When it is purchased, it gets attached to the console and the gamertag on which it was purchased. So, you could put your gamer tag on your friend's console, buy the content, and then go home and recover your tag. It would then work on his console no matter who is logged in, and any console where your gamer tag is logged in. This may be a TOS violation though - so you may want to check into that.
