Repair Xbox 360 – 3 Red Lights
James at joystiq fixed his own 360 that was flashing three red lights, which indicates an internal error.
If you have this problem try this simple fix:
1) Remove your hard drive and/or memory units.
2) Run "Initial Setup" under the system blade.
3) Decline inserting HDD or memory unit when prompted.
4) Sync your controller and pop in a game.
*** UPDATE *** Microsoft has a new free warranty of 3 years for the 3 red light error. If you have this problem, you can send your console in for free repair. Or, if you don't want to pay shipping and have to wait 2-3 weeks, you can attempt to fix it yourself.

I tried your method several times bolo, the red light in the upper left quadrant and then trying to turn it back on, and I didn’t get any results, still the three red lights, so it doesn’t seem to be a practical solution.

I bought an X-Box 360 for my son in April. Now it is totally junk. Can’t play anything…rings of death. Customer support says I am out of luck and have to pay the $139. With this many issues, is X-box really thinking this is the best way to handle this? I wanted to contact you before sending it in. Thanks.

Jason, I have read the above following. I’am Tech.support. Please call the following number (1-800)4myxbox and talk to Tech.support. I don’t know really how to help. My friend told me that he would not pay such as forth the price I had given him to repair the Xbox 360 home entertainment console he thought to purchase for his (son). So then he got it brand new from takeing it back to the store (Walmart) and telling them that he had purchased the Xbox 360 at thier store 2months ago and then it showed the three red light-err.code-16239.hardware failure.-.software problems. thankyou for your question.
