Best Buy to Have Xbox 360 Console Dec 18

A (supposedly) leaked insider document from Best Buy shows they are stockpiling 360 consoles to go on sale on December 18th.
A scanned copy of this document is linked below, and it is not verified, but does seem legit.
Here’s the juice:
“Hold All Xbox 360s for Dec. 18 Ad
The next Xbox 360 shipment arrives in stores between Dec. 11 and 16. All units need to be held for Sun., Dec. 18.”
Best Buy stores are also told not to take pre-orders, force bundle purchases, create waiting lists or hold the product for customers or employees.
They are also instructed to not hold a midnight or early opening.
There you have it! Those of you who haven’t yet snagged a 360, here’s your chance. Be at Best Buy early for their store opening on Dec. 18.

I just drove to three different best buys for the past three hours. There were like 60 + people camped out in those areas in like 15 degree weather. I was like *&^$ this. I love my boyfriend, but not enough to get hypothermia. It is all *&^!@#$.

I feel like driving down to my best buy and honking horn waking all the scalpers up and then curse at them for fun…
What I should really do is sneak in and steal a spot in line haha…
Wonder if there are lines at Target etc..

Get this…
Our Best Buy “accidently” presold all of their incoming shipments to a “group of individuals who wish to remain anonymous”…
At least they were nice enough to tell us that at 4am eh?

Yea, an hour before the store opened our Best Buy had 65 people in front of it. We’re only getting 24. I went to Target instead but the manager said that they didn’t even get a truck in last night. *(&^&*^.

Best Buy store # 518 in my area had exactly the 26 premium systems this site said they would. The first person on line started waiting at 1pm 12/17. The 26th person got on line at 4:45 am. The store handed out numbered vouchers at 7:30 before opening at 8:00. The overnight low temerature was 10F.

[…] So earlier this week I get a tip from Vincent that Sunday is the day another batch of 360’s go on sale at Best Buy. Ever since E3 this year I’ve been luke warm about the new Xbox 360 and after our trip to the zero hour launch event I was getting a little warmer to the idea of getting one. Well lets just say that after spending 3 hours in 10° cold weather this morning I am now very cold to the idea of owning an Xbox 360. Yes that’s right I made the bone chilling mistake to stand in line at the local Best Buy this morning only to end up about 10 people short of actually getting one. […]

I went to Best Buy #486 in Bowie, MD at around 4:30 AM. It looked like there were only about 30 or 40 people in line, but at around 6:00 AM dozens of people exited their warm vehichles to return to empty chairs that they had left as placeholders. One guy even waited in his warm car and paced the line along the fire lane at the store.
At about 6:30 AM a kid about 20 years old approached the end of the line and offered his space (No. 15) to the highest bidder. He identified himself as an “off duty” Best Buy employee and hinted that if you were this far back you probably wouldn’t be getting an Xbox 360, but never divulged how many the store actually received. The guy right behind me offered $300 and was escorted to the front of the line. That is total BS! I can begrudgingly accept a private citizen doing something like that, but a Best Buy employee? That’s like insider trading. In my opinion that BB employee should have been fired!
Anyway, at around 7:30 AM one of the Best Buy employees began handing out Xbox vouchers. This web site was right on. They had exactly 30 units and dozens of pissed off customers. Oh well, I guess I’ll try again later.
